East/West Ranch

Symbols to use: Handicap accessablity (good or poor) | Yes Dog Friendly | no restrooms | children ok

This trail is located between Lodge Hill and Park Hill. There are two main trails you can take. Being that the entire property is located on a hillside going from nearly Highway 1 too the rocky shore, you can choose from either the high trail or the low (coastal) trail.

The coastal trail runs along a cliff side. Zig Zagging back and forth around the curves of the cliffs, it offers one one of the most beautiful walks in Cambria. There are some small bridges passing over water runways which are solid and well made. A few driftwood benches are positioned well during the trail to offer rest and a comfortable place to watch the sun set. It is easy access on both ends as well as gravel walk ways and on some sections a boardwalk.

Directions:

The high trail is completely dirt, but is still a wide and comfortable walk. The high trail, though it lacks the intensity of water crashing up against the rocks that the low trail has, is still very gorgeous as it offers a high view of the entire coast line. It travels right through a large medow with wild flowers and plenty of animal life. However the entrance can be a little tricky to find.

Directions:

San Simeon Piont Trail (aka The Cove)

One of the best kept secrets in Cambria and also one of the funnest trails by many opinions. This trail is only comfortably accessible from the San Simeon Cove Beach. You take a mild climb up a hill on a noticable trail then travel through a small ucalyptis tree grove before reaching the cove.

San Simeon State Park Trail

never been there, will do soon and take down info.

Mostly due to its easy accesability and the fact that it located across the street from nearly 2/3 of the lodging in Cambria, Moonstone Beach is a precious part of Cambria attractive quality. It is the only other public access beach then the one located by Shamel Park.
